I came to a realization in the wee hours while the babes are sleeping and coyotes are yipping away outside my window.

Give credit to your self.

I don't do this much.

So here is a list:

I have birthed both my boys naturally. One who came into this world prematurely and one who was born in water.

I have been raising a child not of my blood (but of my soul) for the past 5 years.

I have stood by my husband through custody litigation's, custody evaluations and a slew of heinous accusations regarding our character (and yes, we have custody of his son).

I have survived postpartum depression...twice.

I have lived through divorce (my first marriage).

I have been a witness and victim of abuse

I survived being a latch key kid to a single parent

Left my career to be a full time SAHM

Created a line of jewelry (to stay sane;)

There is more. There always is once you give yourself time to reflect on life.

Have you given credit to yourself lately?

For all you offer to this world. It doesn't have to be a business or an identity. Little things, like making dinner every night, or kissing your children before bed. Having courage to speak out loud and not being ashamed of who you are or where you come from.

Give yourself some credit. You are AMAZING.

  1. i loved reading this SO much .... you ARE brave my sister.

you have inspired me to journal a list for myself, the "i am not enough" monster has been dancing about me lately.

  2. Kick that monster in the butt...wearing tap dancing shoes of course;) XO

  3. I love this! I have a hard time with this. It whispers to my soul.

  4. The little things are just as important as the big things we accomplish. Lovely post, and an important reminder.
